Ravi Shastri and Vinod Kambli toying with the Pakistan bowling, but once Vindo Kambli was caught behind, off Aqib Javed's bowling, the rest of the Indian batting didn’t respond well and lost the match by 4 runs. Ravi Shastri 77, Kambli 40, Sanjay Manjrekar 49, and Sachin Tendulkar 49 were the main contributors to India. This was an extremely tense clash between arch-rivals.
